geoffreyjohnson I found a couple of these in the wall of my house. My daughter is currently using them for flower holding duties. Any idea on the age of these things? I believe they are soda bottles, but I could be wrong. Any information would be appreciated. Cheers!
Chris Hi Thanks for posting! Here is the patent by William Painter for his bottle stopper. https://patents.google.com/patent/US327099A/en You will find some discussion of Mr. Painter and his enterprises on page 402 of this document. https://sha.org/bottle/pdffiles/BOther.pdf I am not familiar with this bottle but suspect it is somewhat scarce. Soda bottles were made to be reused so it is hard to find them in nice clean condition!
geoffreyjohnson Apparently a kids snuck a couple sodas and hid them in the wall of his room! I'll have to let his parents know.... ...Thanks for the information. I'll do some research and let my daughter know all about her new flower pots.
