Tome I have 2 of these bottles. the one i have right here at hand says "made spring 1912 bottled fall 1916". I cant find any info on these bottles any where. I will post more info and some pictures later today, but wanted to get this started and see what any one knows. Thanks Tome
Chris Well I presume you have seen this web page http://pre-prowhiskeymen.blogspot.com/2014/11/rubel-and-lilienfed-went-from-dry-goods.html This is an incredible site which is packed full of hard-to-find info about various distilleries. What is especially great about these bottles is the intact tax stamps. I love seeing the date of 1913 which allows one to pinpoint the age. It is frequently hard to zoom in on a date with bottles!
Tome Thank you for the response. I will go to that page and look around. I don't know anything about old bottles. so, are they worth anything with the labels being in such bad shape?
Chris Yes, a little. There is definitely interest in what are called pre-pro whiskies. These are not the best since the labels are a bit compromised, but I think you would find a bid or two in an ebay auction. Thanks for posting the photos.
