Purple Glass General Washington bottle

edited February 2013 in Question and Answer
I have a purple glass bottle that has "General Washington" with his picture on the front and the back has the Eagle with Olive Branch in his beak and 9 stars above sitting on an oval outlined in divots. There is detailing around both sides and there is a seam on both that goes up to the lip of the bottle. The bottom has swirls and the # 1 on the right hand side. Found it in the garage of our old apartment and figured I'd see what it was about.

  • Hi and welcome to the forum.

Everyone would want this to be a real 19th century historical flask because if it were, it would be worth a small fortune. But, alas, it is not.

This is a modern, machine made replica of sorts - perhaps imitation is better since it does not closely adhere to an original mold detail.

These modern bottles are collectible - you will find them selling on ebayimage but not for much - perhaps $5-$15
