Blob top brown bottle dating help

Hello! New and first time posting. Glad to find this resource. I am a river bottle hunter, and usually find things from the 30's forward. Yesterday, however, i found what i think to be very old bottle. It is brown, no vertical seams, looks as though it were spun in a mold. It has a blob top style applied top with a seam (pics). The base has only a small "nipple" in the center. No markings whatsoever. I think its the oldest ive found but would love any input i can get! Thanks for your time.

  • This is an earlier discovery than your usual finds. I would date your beer bottle to the later 19th c. perhaps 1870s or 80s.

The key here is the applied blob top. For this bottle, the rounded lip was applied and tooled by hand after the bottle was blown.
