Need help identifying/value - amber DSG Co

I have quite a few old bottles im gonna start with the first one and post pics for you guys. This bottle has the markings D S G C O in a curve on the bottom with a capital H in the middle. There are two seams that both stop at the start of the lip. And it is corked.

  • We are grateful to Julian Toulouse for documenting so many bottle markings - this is De Steiger Glass Company of La Salle, Illinois which was in business from 1879 to 1896

Your blob top beer bottle probably dates to the earlier part of this time period.
  • It sure appears to have an applied top.
  • Thank you for your help chris. I highly appreciate it
Would you happen to know the approximate value of this bottle?
  • Hello can u help me determine a price on this
  • Sorry, I am not familiar with this bottle or the company in general. If you remove the base embossing from the picture, there is not much value there.

The question is - are collectors interested in this piece because of its attribution to that factory. This is definitely the case with many other nondescript bottles from other glass houses.

Found this further info on De Steiger and the company on Tod von Mechow's site:
